Enjoy A Wedding That Celebrates Your Differences
Cantor Jinny will help you create a meaningful wedding ceremony. Cantor Jinny will do an all Jewish ceremony or will officiate over an interfaith ceremony. While combining Jewish elements in text and song with the loveliest parts of your future spouse's tradition, Cantor Jinny’s warmth ensures that your ceremony will be a source of joy and a meaningful memory to treasure in the years to come.

When performing inter-religious Rites of Marriage in compliance with the laws of Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland, Cantor Jinny provides the skilled vehicle by which couples of Jewish and other faiths can come together in a moving and inspirational public declaration of love.
While the Jewish roots of one partner are maintained, portions of the other partner's heritage are woven into the wedding ceremony, elevating a universal element in all of us. This is what transcends our differences and makes us one people...our humanity.

About Cantor Jinny Marsh

With 21 years of professional service to her faith, Cantor Jinny has been serving Temple Beth Torah as cantor since 2000. In addition to leading synagogue services, Cantor Jinny also officiates at life cycle events like weddings, baby namings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and funerals. In recent years, interfaith couples have sought out Cantor Jinny to officiate their wedding ceremonies. These ceremonies include text, songs, poems, and reading, as well as lines of Hebrew that are meaningful to the couple. In addition to the exchange of vows and rings and in keeping with Jewish tradition, the following elements are typically included in a service: sharing of wine by bride and groom and the breaking of the wine glass; the use of the wedding canopy (Chuppah); presentation of the wedding contract (Ketubah); and, the symbolic joining of the couple and their families through the lighting of the Unity Candle.

Interfaith couples often find that having Cantor Jinny collaborate with another clergy member brings a touching depth to their service and deepens its meaning. Cantor Jinny usually officiates independently but often partners with a member of the clergy of the couple’s choosing (or one recommended by Cantor Jinny, on request).

When she is not performing wedding services, Cantor Jinny serves on the pulpit of Temple Beth Torah in Centreville, VA. She presides at all liturgical services and trains Bar-Bat Mitzvah students in Torah and Haftarah readings. Before joining Beth Torah, Cantor Jinny served at Congregation Shaare Tikvah in Temple Hills, MD and Congregation Adat Reyim in Springfield, VA.
